After the turmoil of the previous two years, and a period of rebuilding with eleven new members, we are proud to advertise our first public concert since December 2019 -  SOUNDS JOYFUL!
On Sunday 30th October 2022 at 3pm we will be performing in Norham Parish Church and you are cordially invited. There is no charge for entry, but you will be invited to donate to a charity collection.
Our choir, with members from as far south as Eglingham near Alnwick, far north as Legerwood and Lauder and far west as Newtown St Boswells, will be performing alongside a group of woodwind players from the recently formed Northumberland & Borders Concert Band under the direction of Nick Elwood.
The choir's programme will include the beautiful Abendlied by Josef Rheinberger, a choral arrangement of Bach's Air on a G string and several pieces written much more recently by John Tavener, Stephen Paulus and Matthew Harris. The Woodwinds will play the Capriol Suite by Peter Warlock and a selection from The Sound of Music. The choir will finish the programme with the ever popular Over The Rainbow.
We look forward to seeing you there.

Andante Chamber Choir – PRESS RELEASE
    22nd June 2022

Andante Chamber Choir raises £630 for Kelso Hospital
When members of Leitholm-based Andante Chamber Choir recently heard that the Friends of Kelso Hospital were planning a major fundraising adventure this month, they knew it was a perfect opportunity for members to do something to help out. And they leapt at the chance.
The Friends of Kelso Hospital, along with members of the nursing staff, were embarking on a marathon fundraising trek along the famous 68 mile long Borders Abbey Way, a circular route linking the historic ruined abbeys of Melrose, Dryburgh, Kelso and Jedburgh.
Kelso Hospital holds a special place in the affections of Andante choir members because one of the choir’s longest standing members, Borders-based actor and poet Mike Young, has been a patient in the hospital ever since suffering a severe stroke back in August 2021.
Andante Chamber Choir Chairman, David Watt, said: “We all miss Mike so much and wish him as speedy a recovery as possible.  Mike’s wife, Pat, is also a member of Andante and has been keeping us closely in touch with the progress he is making.  It has been a long haul for them both.  We know how deeply they appreciate the fantastic care Mike has been receiving from the magnificent staff at the hospital.  This was an ideal way for choir members to say a big ‘thank you’ and to remind all NHS staff how valued they are for the amazing work they do right across the country. I understand that the sponsored walk has raised well over £2,000 which is terrific. And money is still coming in!”
