| Description: |
Picture, if you will, a large wall-hung tapestry consisting of various pictured scenes - a wide river, the open countryside, a country fair and a working blacksmiths. The pictures are surrounded by multi-coloured patterns of flowers, birds, and vegetation.
Our Choral Tapestry this afternoon paints those pictures in music - mainly the stories told in folksong, alongside the patterned surrounds in threads and patches of many colours - silver, blue, nighttime black, yellow & lilac.
A feast for the eyes becomes one for the ears. Then we add words, written especially for this programme by our resident poet Arthur.
We hope you enjoy the concert.
