| Description: |
Picture, if you will, a large wall-hung tapestry consisting of various pictured scenes - working weavers and a blacksmith, a wide river, the countryside and a country fair. The pictures are surrounded by multi-coloured patterns of flowers, birds, and vegetation.
Our Choral Tapestry this afternoon paints those pictures in music - mainly the stories told in folksong or by Rabbie Burns and Billy Joel, alongside the patterned surrounds in threads and patches of many colours - gold & silver, blue, black & yellow, lilac & red.
A feast for the eyes becomes one for the ears. Then we add words, written especially for this programme by our resident poet Arthur.
We hope you enjoy the concert.
